On Silent enchanted places

An incapsulated nymph angle detail

I find myself craving the silence
of quiet, tucked away places.
Where not a sound can be heard,
or a draft can be felt.

It seems, the delicate whispers
of colour, flowing from tips
of soft paintbrushes
make for good enough company these days.

I've found my sanctuary
in these endless forests,
layered with leaves.
Calmness in these tones.
Tranquility... In my own self.

Where do you go on days LIKE these?

Lovely poem and nice art! I can’t draw or paint all that well, though it is nice to sketch aimlessly now and then. Though my true peace comes when I am writing, lost in a book, or wrapped up in a nice warm blanket and enclosed in dreamland…..

You’re welcome of and hey, Happy early Birthday! πŸ™‚ And it is, when I remember to make the time for such peaceful endeavors. Many times we get so caught up in the hustle & bustle that we forget to make time for us, for quiet, for peace. ❀

  3. That’s a beautiful illustration, it brings calm and a quiet space just looking at it. I’d like to walk into the picture and feel the leaves.

As cliche as it sounds, I like reeeeally long walks. People in the South don’t walk a lot because everything is so spread out, but they’re missing out on so many pretty details right in front of their eyes! I just skip the card ride, and soak up the sun, sights, and sounds. I get lost in my thoughts while wandering. ^^ Love this illustration!

    • Hi Whitney. I know exactly what you mean and do as you do, but with a camera in hand… You’ll find me wandering again and again in the same streets, trying to catch what I missed the last time. We also tend to rarely look up, things look so different when you do. Have a spectacular day and thank you for such a beautiful compliment.

I love to see people mixing “mediums,” such as adding art to poetry. Yours works very well, and I love the girl’s socks!

  14. – Growing up I had several trees I could literally hide in. All seemed to serve there own purpose. Some trees I couldn’t hide in were for fun and others for relaxing.
    – Beautiful water colour, or are you using guache…seems to be spelt gouache these days. Wow, so long since I’ve done any artwork.

  20. your palette inspires my intuition – I liken it to ‘reading tealeaves’…

There is such a beautiful and gentle breeze of serenity emanating from you, almost as if you can completely ‘close off’ all the noise and business around you when you paint…. I love where my painting takes me… I just wish I could ‘cap’ my imagination on occasion and ‘stay in the moment’ – I learn from you πŸ˜€ … thank you for sharing and ‘liking’ my work…
