A weekend of moments and wander

Orchard street, cambridge

It's been a weekend of moments,
wonderfully slow moments,
the ones you spend wondering,
with your feet up,
waiting for nothing to happen.

The lazy kind,
the contemplating kind,
the ones you find smiling for no special reason,
for knowing you are part of it all.
Where no trouble dares cross your mind.

It's been a weekend of sweet iced coffee,
sipped on bright sunny patios,
with warm bare feet and knees heated by the summer sun.
Of plates stacked high with brownies,
with milk lining the tops of greedy lips.

It's been about slow walks through forgotten streets,
of gardens filled with English roses,
and colourful stems of chards and rhubarb like bouquets in market stalls.
Of Wild mushrooms in tones of yellow,
bright pink radishes and red onions with fresh green tops.

All in all its been a good weekend!
How was yours? Was it sweet and slow?

Sounds lovely! Mine has mostly been about frantic box packing for moving next weekend. Want to swap?

    • Hello Illustrious 🙂 Where are you in the world? If it’s sunny and warm… perhaps we can do a deal!

  6. Was in Cambridge a few weeks back took many pictures (on my blog 😉 …. ) but concentrated on the colleges. These pictures are great and are of a part that I never got to see, just a limited amount of time in the place. I also like the random way the pictures are taken, did you get funny looks photographing the tops of milk bottles? 🙂

    • Haha those milk bottles… The secret is to wake up early enough, when there’s no one to look and think you’re a looney 🙂 And, I was certainly praying they didn’t open the door whilst I was snapping away. Thank you for dropping
